Da Paolo Bistro Bar
Went down to Da Paolo Bistro Bar at Rochester Park on a nice Friday night with CY several weeks ago. This was my second visit. Made a reservation and was pleasantly surprised to be identified by name when we reached.
CY started the night with a cocktail (something with lime and brown sugar) while I had prosecco.
We shared a plate of crayfish linguine in tomato-based sauce as our starter, which I conveniently forgot to take photo of. The crayfish and pasta were delicious though expectedly the crayfish portion was kinda small.
For the main course CY had an excellent rack of lamb,
while I had an even more sublime rack of veal with porcini sauce. Sorry it was so good that I only remembered to take photo after the first bite. Seriously the meat was so tender and flavorful I contemplated ordering another portion. Fortunately the prohibitively expensive price saved me from doing so.
After that we had panna cotta, which was very creamy and a glass of dessert wine for me. Sweet tidings to end the meal.
The menu at this branch is is rather small with the main courses comprising of about 3 pasta and 3 meat dishs and maybe 1-2 seafood. But they do have the standard starters as well as a soup and a special of the day. It was trout on that day.
Overall, service was excellent. Food was great and company was fantastic. Remind me why the Da Paolo group has always been my favourite restaurants in SG.
